Bobcats Return to Defend Home Ice for the First Time this Season

The Ohio University ACHA Division II Hockey Team will be wearing their camouflage uniforms Friday, November 9th as they take on the University of Dayton Flyers at home for Veteran's Day appreciation. Come out and support the boys in this league match up.

September 27 & 28 - @Liberty University Flames

The Bobcats began their 2019-2020 season by taking a trip to Lynchburg, Virginia where they would face-off against Liberty University in a pair of non-conference games. The youthful Bobcats struggled all weekend against the Flames. It was evident that Liberty University's experience was too hard to handle for the Bobcats. In a familiar arena with such a remarkable past for the Ohio University ACHA Division II team, it was a difficult pill to swallow and rough way to begin a season. The Bobcats were outscored 17-0 in their opening weekend and tallied a total of 51 PIMs.

October 11 & 12 - University of Delaware Blue Hens

Another long road trip for the Bobcats would appear to be the factor in yet another winless weekend. After a weekend of rest, Ohio traveled to Newark, Delaware to take on a familiar out of conference opponent, University of Delaware Blue Hens. With their first win on the line on in Friday night's match up, the Bobcats found themselves all tied up after one period of play. Despite their efforts, they were defeated and could not find the back the rest of the night. In Saturday's match up, there were finally signs of the potent Bobcat offense. Again, despite outshooting their opponents for the second game in a row, the Bobcats lost on an own goal that came late in the third period.

October 25 & 26 - Indiana University Hoosiers

The Bobcats would wrap up there road trip traveling to Indiana to take on the newest member of the TSCHL, Indiana University Hoosiers for their first league match ups of the season. After a scoreless first period, the Bobcats found themselves jumping out to a lead in the second period after a pair of goals from Nick Carretta and Mason Yenchar. That would only last momentarily as the Hoosiers clawed their way back from the two goal deficit. However, shortly after the Hoosiers' tying goal, Carretta soon found the net a game springing the Bobcats to their first win of the 2019-2020 season. Dunning was outstanding between the pipes for two periods kicking aside 19 of 20 shots he faced before sustaining an ankle injury late in the second period. Sean Hare took over in relief of the injured Dunning, stopping 11 of 12 shots and securing a win. Saturday's match up against Indiana University ended in a 6-5 defeat. The game saw three lead changes between the Bobcats and Hoosiers, and would be decided by an overtime game winner halfway through the overtime period. Gram Doherty was in net for the Bobcats and was able to turn away 32 of 38 shots he faced, while the Bobcat offense was only able to net 5 out of their 51 shots. A tough loss for the Bobcats, but an overall successful ending to their road trip.
