Bobcats Swept by Ohio State in Two Game Series

The Bobcats headed to Columbus Friday to play another TSCHL opponent, Ohio State. A goal late in the first period by Ohio State happened to be the only goal of the game. The Bobcats had plenty of opportunities throughout the game with 32 shots on goal. Ohio State managed to capitalize on less opportunities with only 26 shots on goal. Bobcats did a good job defensively to stay out of the penalty box, as did Ohio State giving the Bobcats just two power play opportunities. The Bobcats traveled back to Athens eager for another shot against the Buckeyes. Ohio State traveled down to Athens Saturday to square off against the Bobcats for their second game. Bobcats trailed early giving up two goals in the first period. Ohio State was able to add on to their lead and the second period with another goal. Veteran Joe Pergolizzi was able to find the back of the net in the second period to get the bobcats back in it. Bobcats, Mason Yenchar added a goal in the third period to bring them within one. Unfortunately the bobcats were unable to score late and Ohio State went on to win 3-2. Picking up to losses this week the Bobcats record is now 10-3-0-0. Next week the Bobcats will be challenged with defending Bird Arena as two TSCHL opponents come to town, Cincinnati on Friday and Dayton Saturday.
