Bobcats Improve to 7-1 on the Season
Ohio Hockey hit the road again this weekend for two big TSCHL games, the first stop was University of Dayton. The Bobcats had a late puck drop Friday night at Kettering Recreation Center, Dayton got off to a lead in the first period resulting 1-0 after the first. The Bobcats found their stride in the 2nd scoring two goals, Colin Gustafuson and CJ Hoy being the goal scorers and Dayton found the back of the net making the score tied 2-2 after the second period. Freshman Pat O’Donohoe scored his first goal of the year to put the Bobcats up 1, Dayton was able to answer but trusty Joe Pergolizzi was able to score the go-ahead goal with minutes left in the game. Corbin Gustafuson had an impressive night in net with 27 saves on 30 shots. Ohio Hockey headed south to face University of Cincinnati a fierce rival undefeated going into the game. The Bobcats got off to a slow start letting in 2 goals in the first period and failing to score, 2-0 bearcats after the first. Joe Pergolizzi caught fire in the second period scoring 3 unanswered goals. Joe Pergolizzi’s hat trick put the bobcats up 3-2 going into the third. Ohio went on to have a successful third period outscoring Cincinnati 3-1 in the third for a final score of 6-3. CJ Hoy added to goals to in third as well as one more to top it off from Joe Pergolizzi. Michael Lively had 36 saves on 39 shots in the bobcats win on Saturday. The Bobcats are at home this upcoming weekend to defend Bird Arena against two more TSCHL opponents, Wright State and Bowling Green.
