Strong Start to Ohio Season

Ohio Bobcats DII Hockey swept Youngstown State University (YSU) this past weekend outscoring the Penguins 22-3. Leading the Bobcats in points was Jordan Frasse, who netted 2 goals and added 6 assists in the two contests. Thirteen other Bobcats had multi-point efforts, Zac Barngrover, Sam Clellen, Tyler Gebhardt and Dominic Visalli all contributed 5 points. William Smith, Austin Reynolds and Cody Turcotte added 4 points each, Nick Levine, Logan Drell and Collin Gustafson each chipped in with 3 points, Kevin Bruss, Drake Drieberg and Kevin Spellacy each had 2 points. Adding a point each were Nathan McPherson, Daniel Bruss, Brett Hanebrink, Matty Geither, Alex Little and Mason Schmitt, who scored his first career goal as a Bobcat Saturday afternoon.

Ohio outshot the Penguins 96 to 25 on the weekend.

Nick Poulos made his first start of the season in net Friday and made 6 saves.

Michael Lively made his first start of the season in net Saturday and made 16 saves.

Next Up: This weekend Friday, Sept. 25th and Saturday, Sept. 26th, Ohio will take on Virginia Tech and Liberty University. Friday night Ohio will host the VT Hokies at 10:00pm at Bird Arena. Saturday Ohio will host Liberty Flames at 3:40pm at Bird Arena.
